Welcome to the Halloween .5K Fun Run! That’s no mistake. Yes, it’s only a

half-kilometer “race."  Why the air quotes?  Because it's not timed.  You don't even have

to run.  Feel free to walk, crawl or even hobble along the route, stopping to shop at

Main Street businesses along the way.  It's a time to enjoy a family friendly fun-filled

afternoon so mark your calendar for Saturday, October 12th, and help raise money

to support programs at the Gravette Public Library.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

2:30 p.m.   Registration/Check-In

3:15 p.m.   Costume Contest

3:50 p.m.   Warm-Up

4:00 p.m.   Race Begins

5:00 p.m.   Awards

Here are the "race" details!

  • Registration opens at 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot on Main Street across from Legacy Bank.  If you pre-registered, pick up your wristband at the Registration Table.  If you didn’t pre-register, it's not too late to participate in this premier athletic event.  However, Race Day registration costs $5 more so don’t procrastinate… pre-register online or in person at the Gravette Public Library.

  • After visiting the registration table, sign up for the costume contest.  It's optional but hey, it's fun and there are prizes.

  • You cannot safely “race” without getting those muscles in shape so there will be a Warm-Up at 3:50 p.m. on Main Street in front of Legacy Bank.

  • The “race” will start at 4:00 p.m. in front of Legacy Bank with the route traveling west along Main Street, turning around at Hwy. 59, and ending at the gates to Kindley Park.

The “race” is not timed so run, walk, crawl or hobble to the Finish Line, stopping at stations along the way.  Stations include:

  • A BOO! BOO! FIRST AID STATION;

  • A ZOMBIE OBSTACLE CHALLENGE;

  • A SELFIE STATION

  • A CARB-LOADING STATION (yes, DONUTS!)

  • HYDRATION STATION manned by the Friends of the Gravette Public Library.

  • A VARIETY OF GAMES (the Cake Walk will return!)

After crossing the Finish Line, claim your medal because you deserve it.  Stop by the Hydration Station at the Kindley Park Pavilion.

NOW FOR THE COSTUMES

A Costume Contest will begin at 3:15 p.m. on the Main Street ramp in front of the Gravette Police Station. Best of the Best Awards will be given in four categories:

Come dressed for fun! Bring your family, gather your neighbors, or convince your

may sign up near the Registration Table. Winners will be announced around 5:00 p.m.

at the Kindley Park gazebo.

This is a fundraiser, so how will the proceeds be used? The proceeds will go toward the cost of library programs. The Gravette Public Library offers Story Time and summer reading programs; after school STEM programs that include Maker Monday, Tech Tuesday and Wear-It Wednesday; a hotspot lending program; computer workshops; and more. Last year we held gardening workshops; a seed exchange; cooking classes for children, teens, and adults; and food preservation workshops. Library programs are not funded with taxpayer dollars. They are made possible through donations, grants, and fundraisers with support from the Friends of the Gravette Public Library. If you’ve not visited the library lately, please stop by. It’s located at 119 Main St. SE in downtown Gravette.

So, mark your calendar
for an afternoon of fun.

Thank you in advance for supporting the Gravette Public Library.
