A Message from the Library Lady

Summer Reading for Everyone!

It's time for summer reading and the Gravette Public Library has something for everyone. Little Lions Summer Reading BINGO is for children in preschool and younger. As parents, grandparents, and caregivers read books to these little ones, they can claim BINGO squares. Return completed BINGO cards to the library and choose something from the treasure box. You can also count those books toward 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. If you haven't signed up, it's not too late to start. Summer Reading BINGO for grades K-6 fill the void until the Children's Summer Reading Club begins July 10th. Color in the squares or place a sticker over them as you complete the activities. Return completed BINGO

Maker Space

What is a Maker Space? It's a collaborative area where people share space, tools, and equipment to make things. Teen Tuesday Maker Space started June 5th. Our first project is to build a Little Free Library to be placed by the Hiwasse Community Center. The structure was assembled, the interior shelves were painted, and we registered the Little Free Library on littlefreelibrary.org. When we receive our sign with the charter number, we'll put this Little Free Library on the world map. Although we'll complete this project June 12th, there are more activities ahead. Anyone going into 7th - 12th grades is welcome to participate. There is no cost. This program was made possible by a grant
